World Cup 2023 is less than two months away. But in the meantime, the Hyderabad Cricket Association has once again raised the tension with the BCCI by demanding a change in the World Cup programme. The BCCI along with the ICC announced the World Cup 2023 schedule with 100 days to go. But a few days later the schedule was changed to a total of 9 matches with India vs Pakistan match. Apart from the security region, there were many other reasons for this. But now the Hyderabad Cricket Association has escalated the tension by demanding yet another change in the schedule from the BCCI. One of the matches for which the HCA has sought a schedule change is the Pakistan match.
The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has now written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seeking a gap between the two matches, which are scheduled to be held back-to-back, reported the Indian Express. Uppal’s Rajiv Gandhi Stadium will host the New Zealand-Netherlands match on October 9, followed by the Pakistan-Sri Lanka match the following day.
Earlier this match was to be played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on October 12. But with the match against India being shifted from October 15 to 14, the BCCI shifted the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka match from October 12 to October 10 to give the neighboring country enough time to prepare. At the same time, Pakistan is scheduled to play a match against the Netherlands on October 6 at this ground.

The Hyderabad police have expressed concerns about providing security for back-to-back matches, particularly the Pakistan matches. But it is not yet clear whether BCCI will change the schedule again or not. The sale of tickets for World Cup 2023 will start from August 25 in 7 phases.
The World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5 with the first match between defending champions England and New Zealand. This match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The final of the tournament will be played on the same ground on November 19. India will begin their campaign against Australia on October 8.
