Only tomorrow left for Rahul Gandhi, if he doesn’t drop a single seat from Rae Bareli and Wayanad then both will go, understand the rules.

The moment of decision is now hanging on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. They only have tomorrow left. He has to choose a seat between Rae Bareli and Wayanad. In fact, Rahul Gandhi has won from both Rae Bareli and Wayanad seats. He won from Rae Bareli by 3 lakh 90 thousand votes and from Wayanad by 3 lakh 64 thousand votes. According to the rules, Rahul Gandhi will have to vacate one seat each from Rae Bareli and Wayanad. The rule is to vacate one of the two seats within 14 days of the election results. If resignation from one seat is not given within 14 days then both the seats will be considered vacant. That means Rahul Gandhi has to resign from one seat from Rae Bareli or Wayanad by June 18. If any member wishes to resign, he must submit his resignation in writing to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. There is a provision to hold a by-election from that seat within 6 months of the resignation of the member. Rahul Gandhi’s office has taken all the information regarding this from the Lok Sabha Secretariat. After accepting the resignation, the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha shall publish it in the Bulletin or Gazette of the Lok Sabha and a copy shall be sent to the Election Commission. After that, the Election Commission will consider the seat vacant and issue a notification for election there. It is being said that Rahul Gandhi may drop the Wayanad seat and Priyanka Gandhi’s name is being speculated in the by-election there, though there is suspense as to whether she will contest from there or not.
