The Pakistan cricket team arrived in Dublin on Wednesday for the three-match T20 series against Ireland. Babar Azam-led Pakistan team will play T20 matches against Ireland on May 10, 12 and 14. The Pakistan Cricket Board has shared a video of their arrival from Lahore to Dublin on social media, in which the team players are seen.

Pakistan cricket team’s star players Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi, among others, looked in good spirits as they rested in Dubai after taking off from Lahore before embarking on a long journey. Head coach Azhar Mahmood and chief selector Wahab Riaz were also seen with the team for the series. However, the team’s star fast bowler Mohammad Amir could not join the team due to visa reasons.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir could not travel to Ireland with the rest of the national team for the three-match T20I series due to visa issues. A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source said the rest of the squad had received visas for Ireland but Amir’s visa was being delayed due to his jail term in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal.

Pakistan and Ireland will play three matches in four days. This means that Pakistan’s fast bowler Amir will not be able to play any of these matches. The 32-year-old recently came out of retirement to play for the country again after August 2020. Amir recently made his comeback in the four-match T20 series against New Zealand, where he took three wickets in three matches.

Pakistan is scheduled to play its first T20 International against Ireland on May 10. “Due to the spot-fixing scandal and subsequent jail sentence and ban, the visa process is on,” the source said. The source said that the PCB faced a similar situation when Pakistan toured Ireland and England in 2018. After that Aamir was given a visa.
