Pakistan died before the WC, fearing what happened.

3 ODI series is being played between Pakistan and Afghanistan
Afghanistan’s spin bowlers defeated Pakistan in the first ODI

New Delhi. Something that Pakistan was afraid of before the World Cup happened in the first ODI against Afghanistan in Hambantota. Batting first, Pakistan’s batting was scattered like cards and lost 8 wickets for just 160 runs and interestingly 7 out of 8 wickets were taken by Afghanistan’s spin bowlers.

Let us tell you that in view of the World Cup, Pakistan was worried that Afghanistan’s spin bowlers could create trouble for them. For this reason, Pakistan requested the ICC and BCCI to change the venue of the World Cup match against Afghanistan to be held in Chennai. Because spin bowlers have always dominated the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

The last ODI between India and Australia was played at this ground in March 2023. In this match, 11 out of 20 wickets were taken by spin bowlers. Australian leg spinner Adam Zampa took 4 wickets and Kuldeep Yadav 3 wickets for India.

Afghanistan also have good spinners like Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rehman. Due to this, the Pakistan team stayed away from playing against Afghanistan in Chennai in the World Cup. But this demand of Pakistan was not fulfilled and now Pakistan has to play its league match against Afghanistan in the World Cup in Chennai itself. This match will be played on October 23.
