The film was Parineeti’s first release of the year and in ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ she proved her acting skills by playing the role of singer’s wife Amarjot Kaur. Recently while talking about her film, Parineeti Chopra said how this one film has changed her image among filmmakers and since then she is now being offered new types of roles in films.
Talking about the success of the film in an interview to Indian Express, Parineeti Chopra said that this film is no less than a lifetime achievement award for her. The actress says, ‘For me this is no less than a lifetime achievement award. You know your life was the two years you gave to films. Lifetime Achievement Awards are often given for contributions to films spanning at least 50 years.
The film was called an original hit
Praising her film, the actress further said, ‘This film is very special to me because the audience has really loved it. The film is not a PR hit. Not a fake hit. This is a movie that people have liked a lot. In today’s times, this looks better than any other dimension.
This film changed the image of Parineeti
Talking about getting other types of roles after the success of the film, Parineeti says, ‘It was nothing short of a surprise for me. The roles that I am being offered now are very different than before. The directors have seen something in my performance as Amarjot Kaur which they have not seen in any other film before.
The actress said that a director called her and said that he had never thought of Parineeti’s name when he was writing his film, but after watching ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, now he can think of someone else for his film instead.
