Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday accused a young farmer’s suicide in Etawah that farmers, youth and others in the BJP government are troubled by moneylenders and are committing suicide because of it. Forced to suffer.
According to a statement issued by the SP headquarters on Saturday, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Farmers and youth are suffering due to the wrong policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state. Farmers do not get fair prices for their crops. The cost of farming continues to rise, due to which farmers are drowning in debt.
Yadav alleged that “farmers, youth and others in the BJP government are troubled by moneylenders.” Fed up with moneylenders, people are forced to commit suicide.
The SP chief claimed that “in Etawah, a young farmer, who is troubled by daily harassment and harassment by moneylenders, has committed suicide.”
He said, “During the 10 years of the BJP government, more than one lakh farmers have committed suicide due to inflation and debt. BJP government’s policies are anti-poor and anti-farmer and designed for capitalists.
Yadav said that the BJP government is terrorizing moneylenders in the entire state. Ballia, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, Etawah, Shahjahanpur, everywhere loan sharks have made life difficult for people.
In Chouvia police station area of Etawah district, a farmer reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in his field, upset over non-payment of loan. Inspector-in-charge (SHO) Chauvia police station Mansoor Ahmed said that Vikas Jatav (30) committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in his farm in Chauvia village of the police station area on Thursday night.
