Preparing for strict action against terrorism in Kashmir! Amit Shah announced a concrete plan in a high-level meeting

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday directed security forces to eradicate terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir at any cost and ensure security for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Amit Shah directed the security forces to crush emerging militancy in the Jammu division of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and prevent its resurgence in the Valley. He also asked to ensure the security of the Amarnath Yatra, which will run from June 29 to August 19.

Union Minister Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting in New Delhi on Sunday. They include Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, NSA Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Army Chief Designate Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, IB Director Tapan Deka, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dullu, CRPF DG is Anish Dayal Singh, DGP Jammu and Kashmir RR Swain, ADGP (Law and Order) Jammu and Kashmir Vijay Kumar and senior officers of the Army and Intelligence Department participated.

Amit Shah also took information about the current law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that the Home Minister has also directed to take strict action against those who support terrorism. He asked for round-the-clock monitoring of highways, sensitive institutions and sensitive places.

He advised sealing all infiltration routes through which foreign terrorists enter the union territory. Appreciated the security forces for ensuring a safe environment for the voting process during the Lok Sabha elections.

Amit Shah assured to provide all resources to the Union Territory administration to take action against terrorism and its supporters.

Efforts to curb terrorists
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a similar meeting, in which he gave instructions to the officials regarding security arrangements. Sources said the home minister may give broad guidelines on intensifying the anti-terror campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.

4 terrorist attacks one after the other in Jammu and Kashmir
Terrorists attacked four places in Reasi, Kathua and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir in the last four days, killing nine pilgrims and one CRPF jawan and injuring seven security personnel and several others. Two suspected Pakistani militants were also killed in an encounter with security forces in Kathua district and a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from them. The incident took place ahead of the annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave temple in the South Kashmir Himalayas. The Yatra is starting from June 29 and will continue till August 19. Pilgrims travel to Amarnath through two routes in Jammu and Kashmir – Baltal and Pahalgam.
