Punjab: Three people associated with Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar arrested

Punjab Police has arrested three people associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar. Police gave this information on Thursday. The arrested have been identified as Karandeep Singh alias Kannu, resident of Navi Basti, Maud Mandi, Raghuveer Singh, resident of Kot Shamir village in Bathinda and Kulwinder Singh alias Bittu.

The ‘Counter Intelligence (CI)’ Unit of the Punjab Police, Bathinda, in a joint operation with the Bathinda Police, arrested three persons and averted possible targeted killings in the state. Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that these people were associated with gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar.

The DGP said that information was received that associates of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar were planning to carry out target killings in Bathinda, Mohali and surrounding areas. Based on this, the police started an operation and blockaded Maur Chowk to arrest him.

He said that the three were going to Bathinda from Maur in their car and in the meantime the police arrested them. The DGP said the police recovered three pistols (including one 9 mm pistol and two .32 bore pistols), six cartridges and six magazines from his possession and also seized his car.

He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was in touch with Kannu Lawrence Bishnoi and the seized weapons were to be used for targeted killings. Yadav said, ‘Investigation is going on to get detailed information in this matter.’
