Change in number of matches

Jaipur. Rajasthan Premier League T-20 matches to be organized in Rajasthan on the lines of IPL, now there is a new change in RPL. In the RPL matches starting from August 27, instead of 34 matches, only 19 matches will be played. Instead of franchise of teams, the event will now be organized on the basis of sponsorship model which RCL is going to organize at its own level. During the preparations for RPL, questions are being raised regarding such big changes suddenly. The dates of the event have been changed due to the first tender dispute in RPL and subsequent non-availability of a live broadcaster. Along with this, the matter is in the court due to the team not getting the franchise after bidding high in the auction. On this, RCA has to file a reply in the court on August 24.

Talking to News18 Rajasthan about the change in sponsorship from franchise, RCA Secretary Bhavani Samota said that normally BCCI has to give all the information forty-five days in advance. Information about those who are franchisees, after verification by ACE Unit of BCI, they are considered correct or genuine. This has been modified due to delays. Therefore, instead of franchises, teams have been launched on a sponsorship model. However, the cost of the players will remain the same.

All teams can play only one match in league matches
As per the old schedule of RPL, each team was scheduled to play 2-2 matches. But with the reduction in matches now each team will play only one match against its opponent in league matches. Apart from this, two matches will be played in a day as before. Only one match will be played on the opening day and the closing day. The opening match will be held in Jodhpur Stadium and the finale will be held in Jaipur. The first match will be played from 4 to 7.30 pm and the second match from 8 to 11.30 pm. RCA has also formed 21 committees regarding the competition. In which Banswada District Cricket Association Secretary Manish Dev Joshi has been made a member of the ticket in-charge committee.

Decision made due to delay in franchise model
Rajasthan Premier League president and RCA vice-president Rampal Sharma said that the teams’ franchises will remain with the companies for the next season. The first edition will be done by RCA itself. In the second edition, the company that buys the franchise will organize the competition. In it companies will not be like sponsors but like owners. Apart from this, the companies will also pay the players after the auction. RCA has to work on sponsorship model due to delay in franchise model.
