Ramanand Sagar’s grandson criticizes Adipurush, says about Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana – No one owns the copyright, but…

Even today people have as much faith in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ as they did over the years. The show, which first aired in India in the year 1987, is still considered a benchmark for many Ramayana-based shows and films. Arun Govil has created a special place for himself in every home by playing the character of Lord Shri Ram in this show. Even today people start touching Arun’s feet as soon as they see him. Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ was a big hit. In such a situation, now Ramanand Sagar’s grandson Amrit Sagar has expressed his opinion about ‘Adipurush’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’.

I had no idea it would be such an impressive show.

Ramanand Sagar’s grandson Amrit Sagar recently shared many memories associated with ‘Ramayana’ in a conversation with indianexpress.com. He also gave his reaction regarding ‘Ramayana’ which is happening these days. Amrit Sagar said, ‘When Ramayana was being shot, he was 13 years old and spent most of his time on the sets. Although she didn’t realize at the time that it was becoming such an influential show, she played with Hanuman’s mace comfortably on the set.

Amrit Sagar criticized Adipurush

Amrit further said, ‘Some attempts have been made to remake Ramayana. Recently director Om Raut experimented with Adipurush which released last year. The Prabhas starrer was highly criticized. The film was trolled a lot for its dialogues and scenes. This was the reason why the film flopped soon after its release.

This is not a story

He further said, ‘Everyone should understand that if they are making Ramayana, they have to follow the story perfectly. Because it is not a story, it is a part of people’s lives. We forget that there is a large section of India where the Ramayana is still read. Those people know the meaning of every word of this text. So for us to try to change something written centuries ago and accepted as scripture… is like trying to change the Bible. This is impurity. You don’t do such things. Present as is. You cannot hurt the sentiments of many people by doing this, it is wrong.

Amrit spoke about Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana

After this, when Amrit Sagar was asked about Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayana, he said, ‘Everybody has the right to make Ramayana, but he should do it with sincerity. I think everyone should do Ramayana. No one owns the copyright on Ramayana. All I’m saying is do it honestly. Don’t try to make the Ramayana in such a way that ‘Now I will make the Ramayana from this person’s point of view or from that person’s point of view. Ramayana is something that cannot be created from someone else’s point of view. This is the story of Rama hence its name Ramayana.
