New Delhi. Afghanistan have reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history in the ICC T20 World Cup. After defeating Australia, the team secured their place in the final four by defeating Bangladesh in the last Super 8 match. The whole country is celebrating this great success of the team. Along with the fans, the ruling ministers of the country are also proud of the team’s performance. After the match, Captain Rashid Khan received a surprise video call from the External Affairs Minister and congratulated the team.
Afghanistan team has performed very well in this ICC T20 World Cup so far. Created an upset by defeating New Zealand in the league stage and Australia in the Super 8 match. Rashid Khan’s team could reach the semi-finals only because of wins against both the teams above it. Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Maulvi Aamir Khan could not hide his happiness on this team’s achievement.
