Sanjay Leela wanted to cast Rekha, Kareena and Rani
There was a program for the premiere of ‘Hiramandi’ in Los Angeles. It was during this program that Sanjay Leela Bhansali spoke about the original star cast of Hiramandi. Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that Hiramandi was planned as a film 18 years ago, but the story was so long that the film could not be made. Sanjay Leela Bhansali speaking to Leeli Singh in the program said, ‘This happened 18 years ago. At one point it will have Rekha Ji, Kareena and Rani Mukerji.
Wanted to cast Pakistani actors
Sanjay Leela Bhansali also said that there was a time when he wanted to cast Pakistani actors – Mahira Khan, Imran Abbas and Fawad Khan – in Hiramandi, but then it all changed. Sanjay Leela Bhansali further said that he is very happy with his current cast.

Fardeen Khan is going to return to the world of acting after a long time from ‘Hiramandi’. The male cast of the show also features Shekhar Suman and Adhyaya Suman. Whereas, Manisha, Sonakshi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjida Sheikh and Sharmeen Sehgal will be seen in the role of courtesans in this film.
