All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s Maharashtra unit president Imtiaz Jalil alleged that the film ‘Hum Do Hamare Barah’ targets a specific community. Now the name of this film has been changed to ‘Hamare Barah’. He alleged, “The film has targeted a particular community. The film is not made for entertainment but to generate controversy and earn money.” The AIMIM leader said the government should ensure that no community is mocked in any film and such films are not good for the society.

The Karnataka government imposed a ban

Following concerns raised by some Muslim organisations, the Karnataka government, in an order, banned the release of the film and its trailer in electronic media, social media, film theatres, private television channels or other media. The government has said that riots may break out if the film is released. Terming the film’s trailer as inflammatory, several Muslim organizations in the state alleged that the film ‘Hamaara Barah’ portrayed the Muslim religion in a derogatory manner. He demanded a ban on the film.

“The film, if released, will create rifts between religions and castes. Deliberately targeting a religion, damaging communal harmony, disturbing the unity of the country and hurting the sentiments of Muslims,” ​​the order said. A conspiracy that films should guide society instead of spreading hatred between religions.

Death threats to artists

After the release of the trailer and teaser of the film, the actors of the film received death threats. After this, actor Annu Kapoor along with director and producer met Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and demanded security.

Director Kamal Chandra said, “I have been getting calls and messages from many unknown numbers. I have stopped picking up the calls. This is a serious film, we have not targeted any community. The Bombay High Court may give its verdict today

The Bombay High Court said on Tuesday that it had seen the film ‘Haare Barah’ and found nothing objectionable against the Quran or the Muslim community in it. Also, the court said that the film was actually made with the aim of uplifting women. The High Court also said that the Indian people are not naive or stupid.

A bench of Justices BP Kolabawala and Firdous Pooniwala said that the first trailer of the film was objectionable, but it has been removed and all such objectionable scenes have been removed from the film. The court said that it is indeed a ‘thought-provoking film’ and not one where the audience can enjoy it ‘with their heads at home’. Objecting to the trailer of the film, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the producer.

The film is directed by Kamal Chandra and written by Rajan Aggarwal. Annu Kapoor is a big name in the star cast of the film. Apart from this, it is also graced by the performances of veteran actors like Manoj Joshi and Ashwini Kalsekar. It is produced under the banner of Radhika Ji Films and Newtech Media Entertainment. The film is produced by Ravi S Gupta, Birender Bhagat, Sanjay Nagpal and Sheo Balak Singh, while Triloki Prasad is the co-producer.
