After this controversy, he resigned from the captaincy of his state team Andhra Pradesh. He then gave a personal reason for leaving the captaincy. After this, Hanuma Vihari continued to play for his team throughout the season. As the Ranji season ended, Hanuma Vihari revealed that he had to give up the captaincy due to the interference of a politician.

Hanuma Vihari had a fight with its state board after this revelation. After allegations and counter-allegations, Hanuma Vihari made it clear that she will no longer play for the Andhra Pradesh team. He sought NOC (No Objection Certificate) from his state board. After a long wait, he has now received the NOC.
