Rohit Sharma and Virat will play in next year’s ICC Trophy, Jay Shah confirmed

New Delhi. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the two veterans of the Indian team, gave everything to make India the world champions in this ICC T20 World Cup. Both the players ended the 17-year T20 World Cup drought. In the year 2007, Team India won this trophy under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from the format after the T20 World Cup. Now the fans are worried about which ICC trophy the two will be seen playing again. BCC Secretary Jai Shah has given good news to all the fans in a statement.

Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli finally ended the Indian team’s World Cup drought along with their teammates. In the year 2011, Team India won the ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Virat Kohli was part of this team but Rohit Sharma was not in the team. India lost in the final of the ODI World Cup last year and all their fans, including Rohit, were heartbroken. Within a few months, Team India made up for it by becoming world champions.

BCCI Secretary Jai Shah while talking to PTI gave good news to the fans. He has made it clear that the senior players will be in the squad for next year’s ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The senior players clearly mean that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be part of the team and together they will look to win another ICC trophy for India. On the way the team is progressing, Jay Shah said, “Our next target is to win the Test World Championship and the Champions Trophy tournament. Almost the same team is going to play in this tournament which is playing now. “Senior players will definitely be part of the team.”
