RRB ALP Recruitment 2024: Good news for applicants of Railway Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment (RRB ALP Recruitment). The Railway Recruitment Board has decided to triple the number of Loco Pilot vacancies in January 2024. Now the number of posts in Railway Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment will increase from 5696 to 18799. Within a week, the revised official recruitment notification will be released wherein the number of posts will be increased zone-wise and category-wise. The Railway Recruitment Board has also instructed all the zones of RRBs to give the candidates an opportunity to revise their selection after the increase in vacancies. This means that candidates will now have an opportunity to modify their choices in their form.

RRB ALP Recruitment Exam is proposed in June to August. Know selection process and exam pattern here

The selection process will have these stages – 1. First Stage CBT (Computer Based Test), 2. Second Stage CBT, 3. Computer Based Aptitude Test and 4. Document Verification.

A two-stage examination (first stage CBT and second stage CBT) will be common for recruitment to ALP posts. Only those candidates who are successful in the first stage CBT will be called for the second stage CBT. After clearing the CBT in the second phase, you will have to give a Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT).

Negative marking
First and second stage will have negative marking. One third mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There will be no negative marking in Computer Based Aptitude Test.

What will phase one CBT be like?
The first stage computer based written exam will be of 1 hour duration in which 75 questions will be asked. To qualify the exam, candidates belonging to unreserved category should score 40%, OBC candidates 30%, SC candidates 30% and ST candidates 25%. You have to score minimum marks in this test otherwise you will be stopped here and will not be able to participate in the further process. In this you will be asked questions related to Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK/Current Affairs.

What will the second phase CBT be like?
Candidates who are qualified in the first stage examination can appear in the second stage. This exam will be of 2 hours 30 minutes duration. The paper will be divided into two parts. Part A and Part B.

Part A
You will get 90 minutes time for Part A and it will have 100 questions. To get this qualification, Unreserved category candidates have to score 40%, OBC candidates 30%, SC 30% and ST candidates 25%. In Part A, questions related to Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK/Current Affairs will be asked.

Part B
The time for writing Part B will be 1 hour. It will have total number of 75 questions. To qualify Part B, candidates must have secured 35% marks in all categories. Questions from Trade Syllabus will come in Part B.

The third step
Candidates who have performed in Part A and qualified in Part B of the second stage will be called. In this phase, candidates of all categories will have to score at least 42 marks, no relaxation will be given.

The last step will be document verification.
