Russian attack on Ukrainian city kills 7, Ukraine’s president asks for more weapons from allies

At least seven people were killed in a Russian attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Vilnius. Before the attack, Russia claimed that a Ukrainian drone had killed five people in its border village. Russia carried out this attack only a few hours after this claim. Both countries said two children were killed in each attack. Kiev also said four people were killed in eastern border villages in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the death toll could rise in Vilnius, near the regional center of Zaporizhia.

The President of Ukraine said on social media that seven people, including two children, were killed in a Russian missile attack in the Zaporizhia region. “Any delay in decision-making in this war means loss of human life,” he said, calling on his Western allies to speed up arms supplies.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said 18 people, including four children, were injured in Vilnius. He also posted pictures of burnt buildings and blackened cars in the attack.

The head of the Zaporizhia region, Ivan Fedorov, said earlier that the attack “damaged important infrastructure, a shop and residential buildings”.

Five people died in the Russian village

Moscow said the drone targeted a house in Gorodishe, a small village in Russia’s Kursk region, a few meters from the border with Ukraine. In which five people died.
