Dhankhar further said that he comes from the legal profession and understands what professionalism means. He said that a little laxity, a little commercialization, a little moral deviation can prove bad for the people he seeks to serve.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Health SP Singh Baghel were also present on the occasion.

Dhankhar said that the convocation is taking place after a gap of three years and this gap reminds him of the Covid pandemic. He said that the health workers brought the country out of that crisis with their hard work and serious efforts.

The Vice President said, ‘He demonstrated our civilization. We also fought against covid in our country and helped many countries. This is a remarkable achievement. It was sad to see that some concerns were raised without believing in our ability.

He said that today India has become the pharmacy of the world. “We have that skill, the human resource,” he said. But we have to do more to make medicines affordable for the common man. The government has done extensive work in this direction.

Disapproving of excessive involvement of students in the competition, Dhankhar advised that students should choose a career according to their merit. He said, ‘You will be able to contribute a lot to the country and society.’
