But now, as a person – for me, it has become a bit boring. If I do back to back it gets boring for me. I want to do something different this time. This is an experiment for me and for those who follow and believe in me, it is also an experiment. They will think what will Sai do in a reality show, what will work.

When asked about being typecast in the TV industry, Sai said, ‘Fortunately, in my case, this kind of typecasting has not happened. I played the character of a don in the show ‘Mehndi Hai Rachne Wali’. After this, he was a cute boy-next-door character in ‘Chashni’, then a businessman in ‘Imli’ and then a police officer. So I have played a variety of characters and each one has a different flavor. So I’m glad that didn’t happen in my case, but typecasting happens, a little bit of stereotyping happens. That’s why I have to do different kinds of work. That’s why I want to do a reality show.

Talking about the dark side of the TV industry, Sai Ketan Rao said, ‘First of all, if you work in the TV industry, you have to work long hours due to lack of time. Producers have to submit episodes as there are to be telecasted – so you can’t do much on that. If a production house plans properly we will make a bank of 15-20 episodes, then there is not much stress on their actors. Along with this, Sai also spoke openly about the delay in payment in the industry. He said that whatever show you say yes to today, do a thorough research about the production house first. Because, this is not only in the TV industry, these things can happen in all industries. Things like contract issues, payment issues, misconduct.
