Salman Khan firing case: Accused told police, ‘Didn’t know till weapon was found…’

Mumbai. The two accused arrested for firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence were unaware of their target until the weapons and bullets were supplied to his rented house in Panvel. A police official gave this information on Wednesday citing the investigation so far. Bihar-based alleged attackers Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta opened fire on April 14 outside Salman’s house in Bandra’s Galaxy Apartments. Both the attackers were arrested from Gujarat within 48 hours. Both are in judicial custody till May 27.

The official said that during the interrogation of the duo, the Mumbai Police’s crime branch found that Pal and Gupta were tasked with the firing by Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, but both had no knowledge about it. They have to shoot in front of Salman Khan’s house until they find the weapon.

The debate was going on in the Supreme Court, suddenly SG Tushar Mehta said- ‘If Kejriwal had not been arrested…’

According to the official, Palan was recruited into the Lawrence Bishnoi gang by a man named Ankit. Pal and Ankit used to play cricket together and eventually became friends. Pal was later added to the WhatsApp group by Ankit. A few days later, Ankit tells Pal about a task for which the gang needs another person. He said that after this the second attacker, Gupta, was inducted into the group.

The official said that Ankit asked both of them to go to Mumbai to complete the work and promised good amount in return. He said that the two assailants were tipped off by a person living abroad at the direction of Anmol Bishnoi. According to the official, the duo were initially given Rs 30,000 and asked to go to Mumbai in October last year and find a house on rent near Panvel, where Salman has a farmhouse.
