Satwik Chirag Thailand Open 2024: India’s star pair of Satviksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have won the Thailand Open Super 500 badminton men’s doubles title. In the final, they defeated China’s Liu Yi and Chen Bo Yang. The pair, ranked third in the world rankings, registered a 21-15, 21-15 win against the 29th-ranked opposition. In this way both have strengthened their Olympic preparations. It is the pair’s second BWF World Tour title of the season and ninth of their career at the Asian Games champions. He won the French Open Super 750 title in March. Both were runners-up in Malaysia Super 1000 and India Super 750.
Chirag said – Bangkok is special for us

At the All England Championship, Satvik and Chirag lost in the second round. After this, Satvik could not play the Asian Championship due to injury. He did not perform well in the Thomas Cup either. The pair reached the final of the Thailand Open without losing a single game. Liu and Chen also performed brilliantly on their way to the finals. But they had no answer to the brilliant form of the Indian pair. Satvik and Chirag soon took a 5-1 lead. After this, Chen and Liu came back with four points in a row. When the score was tied at 7-7, the Chinese pair made a 39-shot rally to take a 10-7 lead. He made some long rallies, but Chirag tied the score at 10-10 with a storming return.
Satvik got a warning
Satvik and Chirag took the lead 14-11 after the break. The lead soon became 16-12. The Chinese pair scored three points, but after this the Indian pair scored five consecutive points to win the game. In the second game, the Indian pair opened with an 8-3 lead and held a five-point lead until the break. Chen and Liu scored three consecutive points but Satvik broke their rhythm. When the score was 15-11, Satvik was cautioned for delay of game and Chirag lost two points. With this, the Chinese pair took a 15-14 lead. However, after this the Indian pair put on a brilliant performance and gave them no chance again.
