Chennai. Sunrisers Hyderabad, considered to be the most potent batting line-up in the Indian Premier League 2024, faced embarrassment for the second match in a row. First beat Royal Challengers Bangalore and now Chennai Super Kings also chased the runs and did not let them reach the target. Fast bowler Tusshar Deshpande, who was the architect of Chennai Super Kings’ victory with a four-wicket haul in the Indian Premier League match against Hyderabad, said it was important to remain patient against Sunrisers, who played very aggressively in the powerplay.
Chennai scored 212 runs for three wickets when sent to bat first. In reply, Sunrisers, who set the record for the highest score in the tournament twice, were bowled out for 134 runs in 18.5 overs. “It was an excellent performance,” said Deshpande, who took four wickets for 27 runs in three overs. Our only goal was to stay calm against a team like Sunrisers because they are very dangerous in the powerplay.
