Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s friend in the film ‘Om Shanti Om’. Recently, the actor spoke in a podcast about why he did the film with Shah Rukh Khan and how the experience was. Shreyas said that when Farah Khan told me that she was making the film ‘Om Shanti Om’ with Shah Rukh, my thought was very simple that I want to work with Shah Rukh Khan, I want to work with Farah Khan. That role was good and kept getting better.
In Siddharth Kanan’s podcast, Shreyas Talpade told stories related to the film ‘Om Shanti Om’. He said that he has learned a lot from Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh Khan wanted to make ‘Om Shanti Om’ the biggest film of the year. Praising Shah Rukh Khan’s marketing skills, he said that the way Shah Rukh promoted the film before the London premiere of Om Shanti Om was a big lesson for me.

Sitting on the toilet pot, I thought about the marketing plan of the film.
Shreyas said that we were sitting together in the bathroom in London. Deepika Padukone was giving an interview outside. The film premiered in the evening. Shah Rukh was still thinking about the promotion of the film. Shreyas said that Shah Rukh Khan was sitting on the toilet pot and I was sitting on the bathtub. Then Shahrukh Khan said that before the premiere of the film, he and I will dance on the red carpet and invite as many people as possible to the premiere. Shreyas said he never takes his stardom lightly. Of course people would have come for Shah Rukh Khan’s premiere but he wanted to fight till the last minute to attract more and more people. Shreyas said that whatever he did during the promotion of the film was unprecedented.
When Shahrukh Khan came to Shreyas room
Recalling another incident, Shreyas said that the night before the premiere, I was in my room. At that time someone knocked on my door. I thought a bottle of water might have arrived from room service, but as I opened the door, Shahrukh was standing in front. He asked me if he would just stand outside. After this, Shah Rukh sat in his room and started explaining the plan for the next day. He said he had a complete chart of the next day’s marketing plan and was explaining it all at 11pm.
Praising Shah Rukh, Shreyas said that the best thing about him is that he never feels insecure as an actor. They know who they are and what they are capable of. They don’t care that you’re stealing their limelight. Shreyas said that on the first day of the shoot of ‘Om Shanti Om’, Shahrukh told him that he had so much fun on a shoot after a long time.
