Sharmeen Segal gets only Rs 7500 for Mary Kom, says she could have helped her uncle in Ram-Leela

Actress Sharmeen Segal, who plays Alamzeb in Hiramandi, has spoken about her first salary and maternal Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s support in her directorial films. In a recent interview, Sharmeen started her career in films as an assistant director on films like Priyanka Chopra starrer Mary Kom. At that time, she did not consider herself eligible to work as a supporting cast in uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial film Ram-Leela. The actress said that she wanted to be in films but did not understand filmmaking.

First salary

While talking to News 18’s segment Shosha, Sharmin said that I could have worked as an assistant director in Ram Leela. But I felt that at that time I did not deserve the opportunity to help Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I was a complete newbie who knew nothing about filmmaking. The actress said that during this time she was assisting director Omung Kumar in Mary Kom. He got only 7500 rupees for this work.

Lucky to work with uncle

Later, Sharmin assisted Mama Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his next film Bajirao Mastani. The film featured Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. The actress also admitted that being able to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a big deal for her.
