Shock for South Africa, star injured in IPL, doubt to play T20 World Cup

Johannesburg Ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, the South African team has suffered a major setback. The team’s star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is injured. He suffered a leg injury while playing for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League. Due to this he has now returned home before the tournament is over. Kagiso Rabada, the leader of South Africa’s fast bowling attack, has returned home from the Indian Premier League due to a leg injury. The country’s cricket board gave this information on Wednesday.

Rabada represents Punjab Kings in IPL. He has taken 11 wickets in 11 matches in the current season. The Punjab team is already out of the race to qualify for the play-offs and will play its last league match on May 19. “The 28-year-old (Rabada) sought specialist advice on his arrival in South Africa and is being closely monitored by the Cricket South Africa medical team,” Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement.

Punjab Kings are out

The Punjab Kings team has already been eliminated from the playoff race in the Indian Premier League. After playing 12 matches, the team has just 8 points from 4 wins and is in the bottom 10th position in the points table. He still has two matches left, which he can win to improve his position in the team points table.

The CSA also said that the injury is unlikely to affect Rabada’s preparations for the T20 World Cup in West Indies and America next month. “Its preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in West Indies and the United States are unlikely to be affected,” the CSA said.

South Africa will begin their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka in New York on June 3.
