New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have worked with many film stars, but only a select few know and understand them intimately. Actor Govind Namdev has done hit films with both the superstars. He recounted the experience of working with him in a recent interview. Govind Namdev recalls the days of shooting with Shah Rukh Khan in the 2000 film ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’.
Govind said in an interview given to ‘Bollywood Bubble’ that Shahrukh was also working day and night on the set as he was the producer of the film. However, ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’ was handled by Dreams Unlimited, which was started by Shah Rukh, his friend Juhi Chawla and filmmaker Aziz Mirza. Aziz Mirza was also the director of the film.
Shah Rukh is passionate about work
Govind Namdev said, ‘I have heard a lot about workaholics. They are only interested in work. I had heard about Shah Rukh Khan, but I saw him for the first time when I worked with him. We worked all day, then at night he mingled with the whole team, we had dinner together. He was also a producer and used to work till 2 am. He had to catch an early morning flight to Chennai to attend an event the next day and then come back and start shooting! He would sleep for three and a half or four hours at most. They are crazy about work. They will smoke like a chimney and keep working thinking what to do next. The 69-year-old actor said, ‘Superstars usually have an attitude and have tantrums, but he doesn’t.
Opposite Shah Rukh Khan is Salman Khan
Govind Namdev became Salman Khan’s boss in the film ‘Wanted’. He played the role of a senior police officer. When the actor was asked about his experience working with Salman Khan, he said that Salman is the complete opposite of Shah Rukh as far as conversations on the sets are concerned. Govind Namdev said, ‘They don’t talk much, they just do their work. There was no personal interaction. Sometimes he used to say that whenever he does something wrong, he has to be beaten by his father Salim. Not only that, as far as interactions with other people are concerned, he is unlike Shahrukh Khan.
