Start with India’s win, Bangladesh capitulate at home, Renuka-Pooja pace hosts defeat

New Delhi. The Indian women’s cricket team performed brilliantly on the tour of Bangladesh and won the first T20 match. Indian women beat hosts Bangladesh by 44 runs. With this win, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series. The series is part of the preparations for the T20 World Cup to be held this year.

The first match of the five-match T20 series between India and Bangladesh women’s team was played in Sylhet. Batting first, the Indian women’s team scored 145 runs for 7 wickets. Yastika Bhatia scored the highest 36 runs from India. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an innings of 30 runs. Shefali Verma scored 31 runs and Richa Ghosh scored 23 runs.

Virat Kohli became the first batsman to score 500 runs in IPL 2024, Rohit-Rahul, Yashshwi-Gil are not even close.

In response to the Indian team’s 145 runs, the host Bangladesh women’s team could score only 101 runs for 8 wickets. Captain Nigar Sultana scored 51 runs on his behalf. She was the only batsman to score a half-century in the match, but her innings did not help the team, apart from Nigar Sultana, only two Bangladeshi batsmen Murshida Khatun (13) and Shorna Akhtar (11) reached double figures.

India’s medium pacer Renuka Singh was the most successful bowler. He took 3 wickets for 18 runs. Renuka was adjudged player of the match for this performance. Pooja Vastrakar took 2 wickets. Shreyanka Patil, Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav got one wicket each.
