BJP’s confidence peaked with the inauguration of the Ram temple in January. BJP made the boycott of the opposition an issue in the Pran Pratishtha program at the Ram temple. Later leaders of many other parties made this an issue and left their party to join the BJP. This helped the BJP to bring the Ram temple issue to the center stage across the country.

The campaign started with ‘Modi’s guarantee’
BJP started the election campaign with ‘Modi’s guarantee’. ‘Modi’s guarantee’ was also prominently mentioned in the party’s manifesto. All BJP leaders kept raising the issue of crossing NDA 400. Issues related to social security and poor welfare were mentioned in detail in the rallies.

After this BJP changed the direction of campaign. PM Modi made the Congress promise of wealth redistribution a big issue. Compare the Congress manifesto with that of the Muslim League. After this BJP’s election campaign became very aggressive.

The opposition raised the issue of reservation and constitution
Amidst PM Modi’s aggressive election campaign, opposition leaders have started saying that the BJP is talking about crossing 400 as it wants to change the constitution to end reservation for Dalit tribes.

By the time the campaign ends, primary issues become secondary. The low turnout in the initial phase also gave the BJP a warning. Because of this, the opposition parties started claiming that the NDA would not be able to achieve a majority. However, now the decision of the public is captured in the EVM. On June 4, we will know how much truth there is in whose claim.

A tremendous craze of supporters was seen in PM Modi’s meetings.
