New Delhi. Before the upcoming ODI World Cup (ODI World Cup 2023), Australia’s cricket team may suffer a big blow. The team’s star all-rounder may be ruled out of the 3-match ODI series against India. The match-winning all-rounder may decide to pull out of the India tour as a precautionary measure. Glenn Maxwell suffered a left ankle injury last year and has recovered from it, but was experiencing ankle pain in the recently concluded T20 International series against South Africa.
According to ‘ESPNcricinfo’, Glenn Maxwell said, ‘I want to play some part of the series against India. But there is no pressure on me.” The Australian team will come to India for a three-match ODI series before the World Cup, starting with the Mohali match on September 22. The selectors and the staff have supported me a lot. They don’t want to put too much pressure on me to fix some kind of date because they know they have some extra time before the World Cup.

All teams have to submit a 15-member squad to the ICC by September 5.

Maxwell has a steel plate on his leg
He fractured his left leg in an accident during a birthday party in November last year and now has a metal plate inserted in his leg. He had to leave South Africa after the team’s first training session due to an ankle injury. He said, ‘When I went to South Africa, I didn’t know there would be pain. It was good when I went to train that day. Nothing was happening. But then my ankle started to swell and hurt. I hope I recover the way I did before I left for South Africa.
