Stock market breaks all records, Sensex creates history as soon as it opens, Nifty also jumps bumper

Stock market today: The stock market got off to a good start today on the day of weekly expiry i.e. Thursday. The benchmark domestic index Sensex opened up nearly 400 points at 77145.46. At the same time, the NSE Nifty opened 118.35 points or 0.51% higher at 23,441.30. Shares of Nestlé India, HCL Tech, Infosys, Wipro etc. saw gains of over 3% in early trading on BSE. Shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd and ICICI Bank fell as much as 1%.

On Wednesday, Nifty created a record

On Wednesday, the Nifty touched its highest level while the Sensex remained just shy of its record high. In highly volatile trading, BSE’s 30-share benchmark index Sensex rose 149.98 points, or 0.20 percent, to close at 76,606.57 points. At one point during trading, it was up 593.94 points, or 0.77 percent, at 77,050.53 points, just 28.51 points away from its all-time high of 77,079.04. The benchmark Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also gained 177.1 points or 0.76 per cent to touch a fresh high of 23,441.95 during the day’s trading. It closed up 58.10 points or 0.25 percent at a new high of 23,322.95 in late trading. Earlier on Tuesday, the BSE Sensex was down 33.49 points at 76,456.59 points. However, the Nifty closed at 23,264.85 with a marginal gain of 5.65 points.

Asian market conditions

Elsewhere in Asia, South Korea’s Kospi and China’s Shanghai Composite edged higher, while Japan’s Nikkei and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng closed lower. European markets were mostly trading with gains in the afternoon session. American markets saw a jump on Tuesday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude rose 1.16 percent to $82.87 a barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) on Tuesday invested Rs. 111.04 crore shares were sold net.
