Stock Market Updates: Indian stock markets continued their bullish streak today. Today i.e. June 20, both the benchmark indices started trading on the green mark. The BSE Sensex opened up 217 points (0.28%) at 77,554.82. At the same time, the Nifty also opened up 70.15 points (0.30%) at 23,586.15.
BSE’s 30-share flagship index Sensex rose 250.72 points to close at 77,588.31 in early trade. While the NSE Nifty rose 71.7 points to 23,587.70.
However, both the benchmark indices witnessed sharp fluctuations, due to which the stock market lost its initial gains within minutes. Around 9.30 am, the Sensex was trading down 124.81 points at 77,212.78, down 0.16% from its previous close of 77,337.59. At the same time, the Nifty also fell 46.30 points (0.20%) to 23,469.70.
Among the 30 Sensex companies, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors, Ultratech Cement, HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Industries were the top gainers. While Sun Pharma, Power Grid, Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Finance remained loss-making.
There is no significant change in midcap index today. While today BSE Smallcap Index has recorded a slight increase of 0.27 percent.
