Stock Market Updates: Both the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty are trading in green today.

The Indian stock market (Share Market Today) got off to a strong start on the first trading day of the week, today, May 6, with the Sensex up 318.53 points (0.43%) at 74,196 and the Nifty at 22,561. An increase of 85.75 points (0.38%). Meanwhile, in early trade, the Sensex rose 480 points to 74,359.69 points and the Nifty gained nearly 113 points to 22,588.80 points.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank rose by more than four percent among companies listed in the Sensex. While shares of Titan, State Bank of India, Power Grid and Larsen & Toubro suffered losses.
Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 147.99 points or 0.20 percent. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty gained 55.9 points or 0.24 percent. The market capitalization (market cap) of six of the top 10 most valuable companies in the Sensex last week collectively rose to Rs. 68,417.14 crore was reduced.
According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were sellers in the capital market on Friday and bought Rs. 2,391.98 crore worth of shares were sold. At the same time, according to depository data, FPIs bought shares in the first two trading sessions in May at Rs. 1,156 crore has been invested.
