Supreme Court refused to ban NEET counselling, notice was also issued to NTA and Centre

Supreme Court refuses to ban NEET counselling.

NEET-UG Exam: The prestigious medical exam NEET is in controversy this year. After the Grace Marks controversy, the Supreme Court gave students the option to retake the exam. In the hearing held today, the Supreme Court has made it clear that there will be no ban on NEET counselling. The Supreme Court said that if the examination is cancelled, the counseling will also automatically be cancelled. The Supreme Court has also issued notices to the NTA and the Center on other petitions against NEET. The court also issued notices on transfer of all cases from the High Court to the Supreme Court, cancellation of the NEET exam, other petitions related to SIT or CBI investigations. Now the next hearing of this case will be on July 8.

NEET will not be heard in various High Courts

In a major intervention, the Supreme Court has also stayed the hearing of NEET cases pending in various High Courts. In fact, the NTA sought a stay on the proceedings in different High Courts of the country. In fact, the Supreme Court today heard the petition of 20 students including the student body. These students demanded that the examination conducted on May 5 should be investigated by the CBI or some other independent agency under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court heard these petitions

It sought the issuance of an order for academic and forensic investigation of students who scored more than 620 marks in the NEET examination by an independent agency or a committee constituted by the Supreme Court. Besides the demand for re-organization of the NEET examination, the central government and the agencies conducting the examination should take appropriate measures to avoid transparency during the examination and also demand that unfair means be used during the examination. While another petitioner has demanded an independent committee, the court has not yet accepted the committee’s request.
