Suresh Raina made a special demand for Virat and Rohit like Sachin and Dhoni, will BCCI agree?

Suresh Raina’s special demand to BCCI: As if this possibility was already being expressed. Team India veteran batsman Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma may announce retirement from T20 format after T20 World Cup 2024. That’s exactly what happened. After the final match, both the players have announced their retirement from the shortest format of cricket.

Fans are saddened by the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. After the retirement of these players, not only the fans, many former veteran cricketers of Team India have also expressed disappointment. Former star all-rounder Suresh Raina of the Blue team is also hurt.

Reacting to the retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Raina has made a special demand to the BCCI. “I request the BCCI to retire jersey number 18 and 45 along with Virat and Rohit,” he says.

He further said, “The jersey numbers of both these players should be preserved. Jersey number 7 has already been retired. Now jersey numbers 18 and 45 should also be retired.

According to Raina, “Whenever young players see these jersey numbers, they will be inspired.” The number 18 and 45 jerseys have helped the Indian team win many important matches. In such a situation, they should be preserved so that young players coming into the team get inspiration.

Let us tell you that the former cricketers of Team India Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni used to enter the field wearing jersey number 10 and 7 respectively. Along with his retirement, his jersey number has also been retired.

It means that now any young cricketer cannot use jersey number 10 and 7 even if he wants to. Currently, Virat Kohli wears jersey number 18 and Rohit Sharma wears jersey number 45 for the country.
