After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title, the Indian team has returned home from Barbados today i.e. Thursday 4th July. There is jubilation all around for the team’s homecoming, while the Indian players too seem very excited after returning to the country. The Indian team’s chartered flight landed at Delhi’s IGI Airport at 6.10 am on Thursday, after which all the players left for the ITC Maurya Hotel. After reaching the hotel, the Indian team was given a grand welcome with drumming. Meanwhile, the team’s star player Suryakumar Yadav could not stop himself. Suryakumar Yadav played an important role in India’s victory. He may not have been spectacular with the bat in the final, but his catch at long off by David Miller in the last over was instrumental in India winning the trophy. Had Skye not taken that catch, the match could have gone ahead either way.
The Indian team and support staff arrived at Hotel ITC Maurya in two buses from the airport, where the team was welcomed in grand style. A welcome cake was also kept for the team on which the T20 World Cup trophy was created. This cake was given the colors of Team India’s jersey.
After reaching the hotel, the T20 World Cup trophy was seen in Rishabh Pant’s hand.
After resting for some time in the hotel, the Indian players will have breakfast with PM Modi at 11 am. After this the team will go to Mumbai.
