T20 WC 2024: England became the first team to reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. After Chris Jordan’s hat-trick (four wickets) in the same over, Captain Butler (83) played a turbulent innings of runs. Due to this, England defeated America by a record 10 wickets in the Super Eight Group 2 match of the T-20 World Cup on Sunday. Chasing a target of 116 runs, England’s opening pair of Phil Salt and captain Jos Buttler batted in explosive style. Both scored 117 runs in 9.4 overs and won the match by 10 wickets. Phil Salt scored 25 runs off 21 balls. While Jos Buttler played an unbeaten innings of 83 runs in 38 balls with the help of six fours and seven sixes. No American bowler could succeed against the batting of these two.

When they came out to bat, America got off to a poor start. In the very first over, Reece Topley dismissed Andreas Goss (8) and sent him to the pavilion. After this, Sam Curran had Steven Taylor (12) caught out by Moeen Ali in the sixth over. Nitish Kumar (30) and captain Aaron Jones (10) were bowled out by Adil Rashid. Corey Anderson (29), Harmeet Singh (21) and Milind Kumar (4) were out after scoring runs. Chris Jordan dismissed three batsmen for a wicket.

Reece Topley and Liam Livingston dismissed one batsman each. Chris Jordan is the second bowler to take a hat-trick in this World Cup. Earlier, Pat Cummins achieved this feat twice.
