T20 World Cup 2024: After World Cup defeat, PCB is going to make big changes, now players will not get this concession

PCB: PCB is now gearing up to make major changes in the team

New Delhi:

After getting out of the ongoing T20 World Cup (T20 World Cup 2024), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going to take some big decisions other than cutting the squad. Apart from appointing a new captain to replace Babar, this also includes releasing some players from central contracts, but the big decision is yet to be taken. Under this PCB is going to strictly implement the policy of two no objection certificates. Under the policy, players under central and local contracts are allowed to play in a maximum of two foreign leagues per year, apart from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

A point to be noted here is that Azam Khan and Sam Ayub, the young players in the World Cup squad, have not received NOCs to play in the Caribbean League. Both have been selected by their respective teams. And this shows the weakness of PCB’s commitment to its policy.

According to a PCB official, its policy will now strictly apply to players contracted for both central and domestic cricket. At the same time, if the board feels that a player’s fitness or workload is increasing or if a particular player needs more domestic cricket, the PCB will decide whether to grant him a NOC or not. A clear message has also been given to the rest of the players that two no-objection certificates will apply to both players under central and local contracts, the source said. At the same time, the board will have the right to accept any player’s NOC request or not.
