ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is going to start Super-8 matches. The league round is over and now only 8 teams out of 20 are left in the race, while the remaining 12 teams are out of the tournament. The 20 teams were divided into four groups of five teams and the top-2 teams from each group advanced to the Super-8. Super-8 has two groups and each group has four teams. Here, the top 2 teams of both the groups will reach the semi-finals. Team India played their last match on 12 June, the match played on 15 June was washed out due to rain. Team India is preparing wholeheartedly for the Super-8 and captain Rohit Sharma revealed how Team India is preparing.
BCCI TV has shared a video of Team India’s practice session, in which captain Rohit Sharma talks at length about the team’s preparation. Rohit Sharma said, ‘Everyone in the team wants to go on the field and do something special. In such a situation, it is good to start the second phase of the tournament like this. It is evident in the team that everyone wants to make a difference and therefore everyone takes skill training very seriously. Something can be achieved from each skill. When we play our first match, then the next two-three matches are three-four days apart, it will be a bit hectic, but we are used to all these things, we travel and play a lot. A lot, so it will never be an excuse. We will focus as much as possible on our skills, as a team every session becomes very important. We have played many matches here before, so most people know what to do to get the result in their favor. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the upcoming matches and everyone is excited for it.
Team India has to play three matches in the Super-8 against Afghanistan on June 20, against Bangladesh on June 22 and then against Australia on June 24. If India stays in the top-2 in the Super-8, it will make it to the semi-finals. Regardless of India’s ranking, it will play the second semi-final, which is scheduled to be held in Guyana. The final match will be played in Barbados on June 29.
