The ‘Kabuliwalas’, who reached the semi-finals by defeating Australia and New Zealand, disappointed a lot in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. The Afghanistan team could not even stop 80 balls on the field against South Africa. South Africa bowled out Afghanistan in just 11.5 overs or 77 balls.
The Afghanistan team, which reached the semi-finals with the best performance in its cricket history, disappointed its fans on Thursday. After winning the toss and batting first, the Afghan team had a bad start. His opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz was dismissed without opening his account. Whoever came back then seemed to be in a hurry to return. As a result wickets fell. Afghanistan, who lost the first wicket for 4 runs, lost the fourth wicket for 20 runs, the fifth wicket for 23 runs and the sixth wicket for 28 runs. After scoring 56 runs in 77 balls, the entire team was all out in no time.
Number four batsman Azmatullah Omarzai was Afghanistan’s top scorer. He scored 10 runs in 12 balls. Interestingly, ‘Mr Extra’ had a higher score than Omarzai. Afghanistan got an extra 13 runs.
