New Delhi. England registered a record-breaking win over Oman in the T20 World Cup 2024. In a do-or-die match, the English team defeated Oman in just 19 balls. Buttler & Co. first restricted Oman to just 47 runs. Then the match was won with 101 balls remaining. This is the record for the biggest win in terms of balls remaining in the history of T20 World Cup. Earlier this record was in the name of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka beat the Netherlands with 100 balls to spare in 2014.
With this win, England’s hopes of reaching the Super-8 of the T20 World Cup have been strengthened. The England team has now moved to the third position in their Group B with 3 points. Only Australia (6) and Scotland (5) have more points than England. Namibia is fourth with 2 points. Oman (0) team lost all their four matches and could not even open their account in the points table.
