Fans often wonder how a mobile phone ended up in the hands of a particular player as soon as the match was over. Various kinds of questions arise in their mind regarding this. However, when it comes to the use of mobile phones by players, the ICC has very strict rules on when and where players and officials can use mobile phones or any electric gadget. Let us tell you what the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit Code of Conduct, which is being issued during the ongoing T20 World Cup, says about this. (T20 World Cup 2024) also applies.

The biggest hurdle in India’s victory is this player, who shocked the world by scoring a century off 36 balls.

Rule 2.2.12 of the Anti-Corruption Unit’s Code of Conduct states that players and staff must have access to a secure locker (or similar storage facility) before entering the Player and Match Official Area (PMOA). As per the rules, all players and staff members (with few exceptions) have to compulsorily deposit their mobile phones in this locker before entering the PMOA.

All these areas come under the purview of PMOA

At every international match, the PMOA includes dressing rooms used by teams and officials, match viewing areas (including dugouts) used by teams, operational rooms used by umpires and match referees, dining rooms used by players, referees, umpires and all. happens The area designated by the officers and management of the ICC’s anti-corruption unit is called the PMOA. In fact, in this area, players and staff cannot take any electrical equipment, which can be connected to the internet connection.

At this stage players’ phones are collected

The team manager collects the mobile phones of the players and staff before entering the PMO before the match. Normally, after getting off the team bus, this procedure is followed at the gate before entering the stadium. And the team manager deposits them in the locker provided. And after the match is over it is returned to the concerned people. This code of conduct applies to all tournaments and Ranji Trophy matches played in domestic cricket as well.
