T20 World Cup: “PM Modi sir…” Rohit Sharma said while being congratulated by the Prime Minister for the win

Team India has once again become the T20 World Champion. The entire country is engulfed in celebrations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Team India after this historic victory. PM Modi is very happy with Rohit’s captaincy and India’s victory, now on the post of PM, Rohit has given a heart touching reply thanking him. Team India won the World Cup (ODI, T20) title for the fourth time in cricket history. With this win, India ended their 11-year wait for the ICC trophy. Celebrations were held in every corner of the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Indian cricket fans were celebrating this victory with ‘joy in eyes, laughter on lips’ like Diwali.

On this occasion, PM Modi congratulated the entire team and praised their performance while speaking on the phone. Especially PM Modi was seen as a fan of Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, aggressive mentality and batting. Now on social media platform X, Rohit Sharma thanked PM Modi for his message and said the team is proud to bring home the T20 World Cup trophy.

Rohit wrote, “PM Modi sir, thank you so much for your kind words. Me and the entire team are very proud to bring the trophy to India. We are really happy with the happiness this win has brought to the countrymen.”

India beat South Africa by seven runs in Barbados on Saturday to lift the T20 World Cup trophy for the second time after a long gap of 17 years. On this occasion, PM Modi spoke to Team India on phone and congratulated them for the win. He congratulated Rohit Sharma for his brilliant captaincy and praised his T20 career. Apart from this, PM Modi also praised Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli who played an innings of 76 runs in the final.

PM Modi also praised Hardik Pandya’s last over and Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant catch, which proved crucial in India’s victory over South Africa. While sharing a post on Instagram on Sunday, PM Modi wrote, “Dear Rohit, you are the epitome of excellence. Your aggressive mindset and captaincy have given a new dimension to the Indian team. Meanwhile, he also thanked Rahul Dravid, whose tenure ended with the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, for his contribution to Indian cricket. In another post on Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “Rahul Dravid’s amazing coaching journey has reshaped the success of Indian cricket. His unwavering commitment, strategy and nurturing the right talent has transformed the team. India is proud of his contribution.” Thanks to him for inspiring generations.
