Papua New Guinea will begin their World Cup campaign against hosts West Indies in June. A total of 20 teams will participate in the World Cup to be held in West Indies and America. Asad Wala will captain Papua New Guinea for the second time in the World Cup. Earlier also in 2021, he captained this team in the T20 World Cup. All-rounder Charles Amini has been made the vice-captain of the team.
