New Delhi. Team India’s veteran all-rounder Shardul Thakur underwent a foot surgery in London on Wednesday. He gave this information on social media. After the surgery, Shardul is likely to be away from cricket for about 3 months. This is the second surgery on 32-year-old Shardul’s leg. Earlier also in 2019, he underwent leg surgery. Shardul has played 83 international matches for India, including 47 ODIs, 11 Tests and 25 T20s.

Shardul Thakur shared two pictures of him from the hospital on his Instagram page. In which he is seen lying on the bed after the surgery. It can be clearly seen in the photo that Shardul’s right leg has undergone surgery. While sharing both the pictures, he wrote, ‘The operation was successful.’ The injury resurfaced during the tour of South Africa earlier this year. However, he managed to make a brilliant comeback in the Ranji Trophy last season and helped Mumbai win their 42nd title. He requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a longer break between matches to give the players enough time to recover and prepare.
