BCCI has arranged a special charter plane through which the Indian media contingent is also returning with Team India. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah decided that he would return with the Indian players and the media.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team won the title by defeating South Africa in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup. The final match of the tournament was played on Saturday, June 29. A decision was made to ban flights to Barbados due to bad weather. The entire Indian team was waiting in the hotel room for the last three days to return to India.
