Team India’s shock win against Canada forced them to share the points

New Delhi. The Indian cricket team has performed strongly in the ICC T20 World Cup so far. Team India topped Group A and qualified for Super 8. Rohit Sharma’s team won three out of four league matches. His hopes of victory against Canada in the last match were dashed. Rain marred the match and the match was abandoned without a single ball being bowled.

What happened in the match against Canada?
The match between India and Canada was scheduled to start at 8 PM IST. It was time for the toss at 7:30 but the pitch and ground were wet due to rain and it was postponed for half an hour by umpires Richard Allan Kettleborough and Sharfuddaula. At 8 o’clock the pitch and ground were inspected and then it was decided to do it again an hour later. At 9 o’clock both the umpires inspected the field and decided to cancel the match.

India topped Group A
The Indian team started their ICC T20 World Cup campaign with a win against Ireland. After this, he won a close contest against arch-rivals Pakistan. Batting first, India scored only 119 runs but restricted Pakistan to 113 runs. After this, they beat the hosts USA by 7 wickets to book their ticket to the Super 8s. The last match against Canada was canceled and Team India had to share the points. India are on top of their group with 7 points from 4 matches.
