Team India’s statement on Kohli’s poor form, batsman coach said – I am not happy

Bridgetown. Indian team’s star batsman Virat Kohli is yet to bat in the ICC T20 World Cup. Struggling to score runs, the veteran is being talked about everywhere. India’s batting coach Vikram Rathore on Friday said Virat Kohli is facing a ‘challenge’ in the ongoing T20 World Cup. His poor performance is giving less experienced players a chance to prove themselves and contribute to the team’s interest.

India got their Super Eight campaign off to a flying start by defeating Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval on Thursday. Kohli, who had a poor performance with the bat in the group stage, scored 24 runs off 24 balls against Afghanistan. When asked about the team’s fourth straight win despite Kohli’s contribution, Rathore said, “I am not happy.” I would love if he scored more runs.

Even before this, Rathore expressed his reaction about Virat Kohli. He said that there is nothing to worry about as he is a top class batsman. Rathore said, “I love that every time I come here I get asked questions about Virat Kohli. Whether he is performing well or not. Don’t worry.”

He said, “Yes, it is good when you are challenged sometimes. You know, the people who don’t get a chance to bat very often in India are the ones who scored runs today. Our middle order has contributed well. Good to see this.
