Telangana assembly elections: BRS list of candidates released, Congress and BJP target KCR

According to KCR, candidates have been changed in only seven assembly constituencies. The BRS chief also said that the party will release its manifesto on October 16 in Warangal.

“BRS will win 95-105 of the total 119 seats in the upcoming assembly elections,” Rao told reporters at a press conference.

He said BRS’s friendship with AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, Member of Lok Sabha from Hyderabad, would continue.

After the list of candidates was announced, BRS MLA and Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavita said in a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) that it shows that people have faith in the Chief Minister’s leadership and the governance of BRS.

The post said, “Our leader KCR Garu has announced exceptional candidates for 115 out of 119 seats for the upcoming assembly elections. This is indeed a testament to the faith of the people in the courageous leadership of Chief Minister KCR Garu and the effective governance of the BRS party. We seek the blessings of the people of Telangana.”

State Congress President A. Revanth Reddy said Rao decided to contest on two seats because he felt he would lose from one of them.

Reddy told reporters, “A leader who wants to field so many candidates is contesting on two assembly seats. This means that Chandrashekhar Rao is strongly confident that he will lose one of those seats.

In the meantime, Union Minister and President of the state unit of BJP G. Kishan Reddy said Rao contesting from two seats shows his fear and insecurity.

He said that the BJP is making steady progress and is getting support from all sections, including tribals and scheduled castes.
