In the match, Amazon Warriors batted first and scored 226 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Shai Hope, who came to bat at number three from the Warriors, played an innings of 106 runs in just 44 balls. Hope hit 9 fours and 8 sixes in this innings. Chasing a target of 227 runs, the Royals team could only score 138 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 88 runs.

This is Shai Hope’s first century in the Caribbean Premier League. Although Hope bowled every Barbados Royals bowler in his innings, 140 kg Raheem Cornwall was Hope’s biggest target. Hope scored 32 runs in a single over for Cornwall and completed his century in just 41 balls. Rahkeem Cornwall bowled the 16th over of Amazon Warriors’ innings. Shai Hope hit Rahkeem Cornwall for a four off the first ball of this over and the next three balls were blasted in the air like deep midwicket.
