New Delhi. Ajinkya Rahane will soon be seen playing for English county team Leicestershire. Former Indian captain Rahane has signed an agreement with the English club for this. Ajinkya Rahane has signed for the second half of the current season in the County Championship. The Leicestershire club made the announcement on Thursday. Rahane will join the team in mid-July.

Ajinkya Rahane will represent Leicestershire in the last 5 matches of the County Championship and will also play in the ODI Cup. Leicestershire are the defending champions of the ODI Cup. Rahane will replace Wien Mulder in the squad. Mulder, 36, could tour West Indies with South Africa in August.

Ajinkya Rahane is counted among the best players not only in India but in the world. Rahane was the captain of the team when India won the Test series in Australia. He has scored more than 8000 runs for the Indian team in all formats with 15 centuries.
